SAHAR RANA

ABOUT

Sahar Rana is a photographer, director and multimedia artist based in the Greater Toronto Area. She earned her bachelor degree from the Honours Bachelor of Photography program at Sheridan College, where she received the Pitko Award, Gian Carlo Drueco Award and Josko Rosenwirth Scholarship at Sheridan’s 2020 Graduation show, as part of the CONTACT Photography Festival.

Sahar’s visual identity is often described as bold, whimsical and endearing, as seen in her portrait, fashion and still life imagery. Her conceptual and experimental ideas come to play, by turning her subjects into characters who become immersed in their environment.

Sahar’s work, both stills and moving image, are a means of self expression for stories in her life, as well as an art of collaboration. Select clients and collaborators include WIRED, The Globe & Mail, Toronto Star, Best Health Magazine, and Doors Open Toronto.

Sahar is also a part of the BIPOC Photo Mentorship, and a member of Diversify Photo.

She is currently open to editorial, commercial and fine art projects.
